MONA JEAN’S BIO

Mona Jean Reed is the author of three suspense novels: Reclaiming Little Marty, Snared, and the  recently released, If it Kills Me. She has been included in two anthologies: A Centennial Celebration of Oklahoma Stories and Beads on a String,  These are available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and other booksellers. Also, her booklet of interesting Bible details,  A Potpourri of Bible Facts, is available as a Kindle ebook. In addition her work has appeared in a number of magazines.

For almost ten years, she mostly took care of her COPD-emphysema, disabled husband. He died in 2005.  (If you truly love those you say you love, you won’t smoke.)

When hubby didn’t need her right then and housework was done, she she refreshed herself by writing stories as fast as she could type. (That’s about 75 wpm.) The good stuff among those tales will eventually find their way into publication. Currently she’s polishing one of several science fiction novels that are sitting on her hard drive.

Mona Jean has a degree in chemistry, with minors in biology and math. Unfortunately, she found that the chemistry jobs available in the Oklahoma City part of the real world were much more dangerous than those she enjoyed in the ivory tower. Since dying early or becoming disabled seemed to be her only choices in chemistry, she found other employment. It was the correct move.

When she isn’t writing, Mona Jean gardens, prepares for parties and studies. She feels God has made life for our joy and makes a point of living that philosophy—even when things are tough. She also feels that it is the duty of those who are able, to help those who aren’t, and spends time in that pursuit.
